Job Description

Role Type: W2 Contract to Hire

Work Status: US Citizen, Green Card Holder

Start: Immediate

Hourly: up to $90/hr, and full-time $170,000 

Travel: up to 20%

 

What You’ll Do

As Sr. Network Consultant, you will work in our Professional Services organization as part of a multi-disciplinary consulting practice that delivers solutions using a wide variety of technologies and solutions, including:  SDWAN, SDDC, Overlay network topologies, traditional 3-tier network topologies, Public cloud interconnects and topology design, and Network Security design and implementations. 

 

  • Develop and deliver technology solutions for customers, with an exceptionally high focus on quality.
  • Work closely with other Burwood Group project team members.
  • Build strong and continuous relationships with our clients, becoming their go-to advisor.
  • Provide training and knowledge transfer to clients to ensure they can successfully maintain solutions post-implementation.
  • Act as a mentor and provide technical guidance to peers.
  • Stay current on market trends, technologies, and best practices

Qualifications

Who You Are

  • 7–10 years of technical delivery and enterprise architecture experience, preferably within a Fortune 1000 company or consulting organization.
  • Strong understanding of network architectures, solutions, processes, frameworks, and core components.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage in analytical and consultative conversations, identifying and solving complex customer problems.
  • Passion for technology with a habit of staying current on market trends, solution insights, and vendor roadmaps.
  • Experience collaborating with project managers to establish project plans and leading technical teams to successful delivery in customer environments.
  • Skilled at engaging with CxO, Director, and Manager-level stakeholders while also managing day-to-day project tasks.
  • Proven track record of exceeding customer expectations and proactively anticipating client needs.
  • Adaptable to fast-paced, sales-driven, and quality-focused delivery models; able to work effectively in team-based and self-managed environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills, across in-person, phone, and email interactions.
  • Highly accountable and responsible, with a commitment to delivering quality outcomes.
  • Passionate about technology and committed to continuous learning.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% for customer engagements.

 

The Tech Stuff

  • Proven experience building Nexus Dashboard Fabric Controller (NDFC) environments from the ground up.
  • Strong experience with firewalls, preferably Palo Alto.
  • In-depth knowledge of networking principles, routing/switching, and protocols (e.g., BGP, EIGRP).
  • Deep experience with Cisco networking products and competitor solutions.
  • Strong understanding of WAN network strategies and circuits such as MPLS, Metro-E, and Dark Fiber.
  • Familiarity with network analysis tools such as LiveAction or SolarWinds.
  • Solid grasp of disaster recovery (DR) strategies and design.
  • Ability to mentor and develop junior network engineers.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) required; Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) preferred.
  • Nice to have: Experience with Network Access Control (NAC) solutions, particularly Cisco ISE or Aruba ClearPass.

Candidates with the following skills are a plus:

  • Wireless products from Cisco or Aruba
  • Cisco ISE or Aruba Clearpass
  • Any of CCIE R/S, ACMX, or ACDX
  • CCNP Security certification
  • Palo Alto PCSNE certification
